NAFPO organised India FPO Dialogue- Catalysing Agriculture through Collaboration
The Indian agriculture landscape has seen significant changes in recent years, with FPOs emerging as key institutional mechanisms in the transformation. These organizations have made commendable progress, yet they face a range of challenges that demand attention and collaborative solutions. According to the recent figures (SoFPO Report 2023), there are more than 26000 FPOs/FPCs promoted in the country and many are still under various stages of promotion under the Centre Sector Scheme of promotion of 10,000 FPO. There is a larger understanding of key challenges faced by FPOs and a unique opportunity linked to farmers/FPOs being able to influence production and trade.
The FPO ecosystem in India is evolving rapidly, with new models, technologies, and support systems coming into play. The advent of digital platforms, advanced agriculture practices, and innovative financing mechanisms is re-shaping the landscape. FPOs now stand at a crossroads, requiring strategic benchmarking and alignment with market expectations and financial institutions to foster collaboration effectively.
In this backdrop, NAFPO and AMEA, organised India FPO Dialogue- Catalysing Agriculture through Collaboration on the 25th Sept 2023 in New Delhi.
